Tiger beetle. Escarabajo tigre

My acrylic on canvas 16"x20". Based on a picture by Eduard Florin Niga, posted on

I had a lot of fun painting it, I did not follow the proportions exactly, my goal was to learn how to paint those insect hairs. I decided to spread the white acrylic without medium. The rest of the painting has two types of medium, thick matte and semi liquid glossy.

Mickey is a Staffordshire Pitbull therapy dog. Here, he is almost asleep. The model is all brown, I decided to see it in colors. A painting is not a reproduction, but an artistic idea and a concept representation.

Abstract birds series. Serie de pájaros abstractos

These are details photos of one of my non figurative acrylic on canvas paintings, though at some point, part of it intended to be a bird, but resulted to be something else. I used a 100 mm lens, ISO 100 in a low natural light environment, that is why they look somehow blurred and more abstract.
The original painting can be seen here

Ducks intersection. Intersección de patos

Ducks intersection in different water reflections, it is interesting to see how with their motion they are breaking the colors that are created by the trees nearby. The ducks are blended in the water, they can be barely seen.

Intersección de patos en diferentes reflejos en el agua, es interesante ver cómo con su movimiento rompen los colores que son creados por los árboles cercanos. Los patos están mimetizados en el agua, apenas pueden verse.

Some pictures of Marc Chagall's art

I'd like to share these non-edited pictures that I have taken in January 2015 at Los Angeles Art Show. I was delighted to see some of Chagall's works, he's one of my favorite artists.
The colors may be distorted, and I used an old camera. I remember them brighter.
From wikipedia:

Marc Zakharovich Chagall (/ʃəˈɡɑːl/ shə-GAHL;[3][nb 1] 6 July [O.S. 24 June] 1887 – 28 March 1985) was a Russian-French artist.[1] An early modernist, he was associated with several major artistic styles and created works in virtually every artistic format, including painting, book illustrations, stained glass, stage sets, ceramic, tapestries and fine art prints. Art critic Robert Hughes referred to Chagall as "the quintessential Jewish artist of the twentieth century" (though Chagall saw his work as "not the dream of one people but of all humanity"). According to art historian Michael J. Lewis, Chagall was considered to be "the last survivor of the first generation of European modernists". For decades, he "had also been respected as the world's preeminent Jewish artist". Using the medium of stained glass, he produced windows for the cathedrals of Reims and Metz, windows for the UN, and the Jerusalem Windows in Israel. He also did large-scale paintings, including part of the ceiling of the Paris Opéra.
